PROJECTS
Coral restoration database
I assembled and manage a global database of coral reef restoration, currently hosted by ICRI. The visualisation interrogates multiple databases, and allows users to interact with the review and database, directly supporting best practice coral reef restoration.
Tableau | Google sheets | SQL
Data collection, visualisation, interactive dashboard, data merges, database management
butterflyfish fights
Analysing a community of butterflyfishes after a major coral bleaching event in Iriomote, Japan. From a forthcoming publication (2024).
R | RStudio | Github
Data collection, data management, statistical analysis, data visualisation and presentation
progress dashboard
A work-in-progress dashboard of model outputs from a dynamic agent based model tracking butterflyfish aggression following a coral bleaching event over 150 000 time steps.
R | RStudio
Agent based modelling, predictive modelling, simulations
competition viz
The visualisation that started it all, my first use of Tableau (in 2014!) and to my knowledge the first time an interactive visualisation was used in an academic setting, at least in ecology. Linking references, and a small database on competition between reef fishes.
Tableau
ecological traps
Scatterplots are the bread and butter of ecological data visualisation, combined here with a logistic regression model output from a manipulative field experiment.
R | RStudio
Experimental design, statistical analysis, interpretation, visualisation, presentation
tidy Tuesdays
To work with different datasets I try to participate in at least one Tidy Tuesday project per month. Some are under strict time limit, and some I spend more time on.
